PCS Awards Evening
PCS was delighted to welcome over 160 students from years 7 - 10 to our second ever Academic and Community Awards evening on Thursday 18th July. The hall was packed with parents and carers who came to share praise for their child’s achievements and celebrate their successes.
It was wonderful to be able to recognise all of the students who had been nominated by PCS staff for their outstanding academic excellence and their exceptional progress in the different curriculum areas. Certificates were also awarded for Literacy as well as to those students who have been part of the Roedean Academy programme.
The evening provided us all with an opportunity to thank all of those students who contribute to the school and the wider community and a special speech was given by our Duke of Edinburgh Operations officer to those students who have completed their DofE Bronze Award. As she presented them with their badges and certificates it was impressive to hear that PCS has above National average completion rate.
We would like to thank our guest speakers, Chris Derbyshre our pre -16 schools partnership Manager from the University of Sussex, Jo Ireland DofE Operations officer and Patricia Metham our Chair of Governors for their inspirational speeches before presenting awards.
Particular thanks go to Aaliyah and Ines, our ex-President and Vice President our fantastic role models who came back to school to present certificates. We wish them all the best as they pursue their post 16 dreams.
The evening concluded with the Student of the Year Awards which was nominated by the Head of Each Year. A huge congratulations goes to them for this prestigious achievement.
