Armistice Day
At 11 am on Monday 11th November a group of PCS students, with representatives from each year group, attended the annual Remembrance Service at the Peacehaven War Memorial.
Following an introduction by Reverend Lowries, and laying of wreaths by local primary schools, students observed a 2 minute silence. This was then followed by 12 readings and recitals, the majority of which were written by the students themselves.
We were very proud to be able to share the student's emotive readings with members of our wider community.
POPPIES
We are wearing poppies with pride,
To remember the people that died,
To protect our country and speak peace,
We stay silent for two minutes to honour the deceased
This day will always be remembered,
Think of all of them and their hope for lasting peace,
For this is remembrance day for those who fought for peace.

HONOUR
Honour, honour the eleventh hour
This day, we remember with silence and grace,
The sacrifices made, no time can erase,
The courage and love still echo through space,
We wear the red poppy, a symbol so bright,
To honour their memory and keep it alight
We stand united, in silence and might.
With grateful hearts, we remember today,
And promise their courage will never fade.

REMEMBER
This day in November is a day to remember,
To remember the bullets, the explosions, the embers,
To remember the brave who fought for us,
To remember the many who lost their lives,
Never forget the price they paid,
The sacrifices that had to be made,
So, we thank everyone for keeping us safe,
Wear your poppies with pride and grace.
